Go Irish! This weekend, Mommy and Daddy and I visited the Notre Dame campus. It was dark and rainy when we first got there, so we had lunch at Legends Pub right by the football stadium. By the time we finished our nummy food (Mommy wants to add that her peach/chicken/bleu cheese salad was amazing...) it stopped raining and the sun came out (unfortunately, it got REALLY humid too). We visited the bookstore so Daddy could get his 2011 "The Shirt". I got a stuffed doggie wearing a Notre Dame shirt and a sparkly blue and gold pom pom thing, just like the cheerleaders use!
We walked and walked and walked, and saw a lot of old buildings, including the Basilica. Mommy went inside, but since I could not be quiet and "respectful", I had to wait outside with Daddy. Mommy said it was very pretty inside...and nice and cool!
We also "hiked" down to the Grotto, where I was also supposed to be quiet and respectful...man, college has a lot of rules!
Of course, we had to visit the Hesburgh Library with the famous "touchdown Jesus" mural on it's facade. Actually, Mommy and I used the bathroom at the library too...
Daddy's favorite part of the visit was seeing some of the football players walking over to the practice fields for some "secret scrimmages". There were security guards standing around and black fabric on the fences so you could not see the players practice - oh my! Daddy made me pose in front of the football stadium. I think he is ready for the college football season! Let's go Irish!
