Fall Crafts with Mommy
It's starting to cool off here in the Midwest, and I can't play outside as much as I'd like to, so Mommy and I have been keeping busy by making cool fall crafts. A few weeks ago, we collected leaves at Maw Maw's cabin in Michigan, and Mommy pressed them flat in a big book.
This week, I helped Mommy "shave" some broken crayons into little bits (shavings) and we layered them with the pressed leaves between sheets of waxed paper.
Mommy ironed the waxed paper "sandwiches" until the crayons got all melty. I wanted to "do" the iron too, but Mommy said no.....man, that's not fair!
We hung our leaf and crayon "suncatchers" in windows - they are super pretty! Especially when the sun shines through them!
Mommy and I also made some cool candle holders from jars, tissue paper and leaves. She wrote about it on her blog (http://christie-thesuburbanfoodie.blogspot.com) if you need
instructions. I LOVE doing crafts and making things with Mommy! I can't wait till we start working on stuff for Halloween! It's my FAVORITE holiday!
