It has been cold, damp and rainy for several days now, and even though I've been stuck in the house with Mommy, we still manage to have interesting wildlife discoveries! We had a Box turtle in our front yard who was trying to make a muddy nest to lay eggs, that is, until Daddy made her go away! Yesterday, Mommy discovered (with some help from Grandpa A and a National Audubon Society bird book) a Green Heron walking along the edge of our pond, looking for fishies and/or froggies to eat. The bird book said it catches fishies with it's long bill, but we didn't see it happen...earlier this week, Mommy put some corn out for the deer who come to visit, but the Canadian geese keep coming in our yard for the corn, so we've started to "sick" the doggie on them. You should see those birds take off! I hope the rain lets up soon, I want to play outside!
